About

Julie:
Sometimes the one thing that can get you through the day is a good friend. That’s what I have discovered over the last six months. I am relatively new to gluten-free cooking. My three year old daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease a little over six months ago and I have been struggling in the kitchen ever since. My biggest challenge: To get all four of my children, replete with multiple food allergies, sensitivities, and aversions, to eat the same thing in a given meal. I still haven’t found that magic food item, but I haven’t given up (okay … I have just about given up). Fortunately, life has provided me with an outlet for my food related challenges – my friend Jen.
Jen:
It was Julie’s constant frustration that led me to suggest a gluten-free blog as an outlet for both of us. I have a wheat sensitive child and while I am even newer to gluten-free cooking than Julie, the kitchen is my second home. I am a retired lawyer with a love for the culinary arts and, unlike Julie, I am enjoying the gluten-free challenge.
Together, we have decided to share our concerns, questions and experiences, and even a little advice for celiac disease newbies, with the blogosphere via this blog.
