The article gives some useful advice about cutting costs. Most of their suggestions are standard ones like making things from scratch instead of buying mixes. But there was one suggestion that was new to me.

All those sessions you had in the fall with your child’s teacher, principal, and school nurse are worthless to you in the summer. Now you have to deal with something entirely different – camp!
