Gluten Free Living Tips By 2 Gluten Free Moms-
November 24th, 2009Gluten-Free RecipesFor many, the Thanksgiving holiday means a hot roasted turkey smothered in gravy with creamy mashed potatoes and green beans with onions on the side. Perhaps there is a platter of fresh corn on the cob cooked to a perfect crunch with some cranberries decorating the perimeter of the plate. For some, the Thanksgiving holiday means taking a moment to be grateful for all we have: our families, our homes, our loved ones. But to me the Thanksgiving holiday means one thing and one thing only: The Dallas Cowboys game.

August 15th, 2009Gluten-Free PollsI originally came up with the idea a few weeks ago when I had spent over an hour on the computer trying to find the answer to a simple gluten-free cooking question. Wouldn’t it be great to have a gluten-free super-site that would provide all the health, cooking, recipe, and other assorted gluten-free living questions in one place? Oh, and maybe that website could sell some gluten-free noodles for less than $5! So the other day I invited Julie over for some coffee and gluten-free chocolate cake and we sat down to discuss my idea. She loved the concept and suggested I add our gluten-free blog and links to other blogs to the website. That would be the epitome of one stop gluten-free shopping.

August 13th, 2009Hot TopicsI opened the door to my daughter’s pre-school and peeked in. I spotted my daughter munching on some potato chips that I left at school for when all the other kids were eating food with gluten. If she was eating them it meant there must be a party of some kind that I forgot about. I was probably supposed to bring her a gluten-free cupcake that morning. I slipped into the room, tip-toed over to the teacher, and apologized profusely. “Don’t worry about it,” she insisted. “She’s fine. Take a look.” I glanced over to the table and saw her laughing with a friend. She really was fine.

There will be a fantastic gluten-free food expo at the Wyndham Hotel in Lisle, Illinois, where you can sit in on cooking classes given by chefs, nutritionists and your favorite cookbook authors, as well as visit a vendor fair with over 30 gluten-free vendors.

July 26th, 2009Gluten Free KidsFor many, summertime simply means fun-in-the-sun. For mothers of kids on a celiac diet it means much more. All those sessions you had in the fall with your child’s teacher, principal, and school nurse are worthless to you in the summer. Now you have to deal with something entirely different – camp!
